Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

1. Who we are

Sano Design is a lab-grown diamond jewelry business operated by Spriha Shrestha. This Privacy Policy explains what information Sano Design collects through https://sanodesign.co, how it is used, and the choices you have. Questions can be sent to hello@sanodesign.co.

It covers this website and its mailing list. Sano OS, a separate product at os.sanodesign.co, publishes its own privacy policy and is not covered here.

We ship worldwide, and customers write to us from many countries. Spriha Shrestha decides why and how your information is used — in data-protection law, the "controller" — and can be reached at hello@sanodesign.co.

2. Information you give us

When you join the founding list, we collect your name, your email address. When you send a message or a custom-jewelry inquiry, we collect the contact details and the description you submit.

3. Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider may record technical information needed to serve and secure the site, such as IP address, browser type, request metadata, and error logs.

The site runs no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no advertising. It uses only the cookies and local storage needed to operate the shopping cart and remember display preferences, and it does not follow you across other sites.

4. Payments

When you buy a piece, we send you an invoice by email and you pay it on a page hosted by our payment processor. The processor handles your payment-card details directly; Sano Design never receives or stores them.

We receive the fact and amount of your payment, and the billing contact details you give the processor, so that we can fulfil and account for your order.

5. How we use information

We use your information to answer inquiries, prepare quotes for custom pieces, send you the founding-list emails you asked for, operate and secure the site, and comply with our legal obligations.

We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects, and we do not sell your personal information.

6. Why we are allowed to use it

Where data-protection law requires us to name a legal basis, these are ours. To quote and fulfil an order, and to answer an inquiry you sent: because it is necessary to take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you.

To send you founding-list emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

To keep the site secure and to keep our own records: our legitimate interest in running a business that works and can account for itself. Where the law requires us to keep something, our legal obligation.

7. Where your information goes

Sano Design is based in the United States, and the providers who host the site, store the mailing list, deliver our email, and take payment process information in the United States. So if you write to us or order from outside the United States, your information travels there.

Where the law requires a safeguard for that transfer, we use the transfer mechanism our provider offers for it. Write to hello@sanodesign.co and we will tell you which mechanism applies to a given provider, and how to obtain a copy of it.

8. Service providers

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business: hosting and delivery, mailing-list storage, transactional email delivery, our content management system, and the processor that takes payment for an order. Each processes information on our instructions and only to provide their service.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to investigate abuse, or to protect the rights and safety of our customers or the business.

9. Your choices

You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, and ask us to delete the information we hold about you by writing to us.

You can also use your browser's controls to clear cookies and local storage, though this may reset your cart and display preferences.

10. Your rights over your information

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. We normally answer free of charge. Sometimes we cannot do everything asked — we may have to keep a record the law requires us to keep, for instance — and if we refuse we will tell you why.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also ask us to restrict how we use your information, object to our using it on the basis of our legitimate interests, and withdraw any consent you gave, which does not undo what we did before you withdrew it. Where we hold information you gave us and use it by consent or to perform our contract, you can ask for it in a portable form.

To exercise any of these, write to hello@sanodesign.co. We may need to check who you are before we act.

11. Complaints

If you think we have handled your information badly, we would like the chance to fix it — write to hello@sanodesign.co. You do not have to come to us first.

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to complain to a data-protection supervisory authority: in the EEA, the authority where you live, where you work, or where you think the problem happened; in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

12. Retention and security

We keep founding-list and inquiry records for as long as needed to run the business and to meet our legal obligations.

We use appropriate safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

13. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

14. Changes

We may update this policy as the business changes. The date above shows when it was last revised.

15. Contact

Write to Spriha Shrestha at hello@sanodesign.co with any privacy question or request.
